Blog 10-Year Challenge (2013-2023) – Song No.130

On this date ten years ago (30 May 2013), three songs from three different movies (plus one Non film song) were covered in the blog. Here are the details:-

We observe that two movies (out of three) whose songs were covered in the blog on this date ten years ago have since been YIPPEED in the blog. That leaves us with only one unYIPPEED movie that is eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today (30 May 2023).
That BTYC eligible movie is “Mastaani”(1955).
“Mastaani”(1955) was produced and directed by Dhirubhai Desai for Sharad Productions, Bombay. The movie had Nigar(Sultan),Manhar(Desai), Shahu Modak, Rathnamala, Niranjan Sharma, Agha, Suryakant,Seeta Bose, Santhosh Kumar, N.Bhushan, Dilip, Roop Kumar, Mishrilal, B.N.Bali etc in it. In addition there were guest appearances by Kamal Indira Bansal, Jankidass, Yashodhara and Bhagwan.
“Mastaani”(1955) had 12 songs in it. Five songs have been covered so far.
Here is the sixth song from the movie to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Shamshad Begam. Some unidentified male voice utters “hoy hoy” a few times, but despite that, this song is very much a Shamshad Begam solo. Raja Mehdi Ali Khan is the lyricist. Music is composed by B N Bali.
Only audio of the song is available. The song sounds like a dance song to me. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of the song.
